Advertising Photography Can Be Dangerous for the Commercial Photographer At Times

There I was, sitting in the cafeteria of this extremely popular advertising agency, waiting for a certain Mrs. Jones, the new account manager here, who would explain my new project to me, when I saw this girl picking at her food and reading some book, which apparently was more interesting than the food on her plate. There was something special about this girl. No, she was not astonishingly beautiful, neither was she eye-catching in any way; but, somehow, she managed to catch the attention of the photographer (correction – commercial photographer) in me.

Mrs. Jones came sooner than I had expected and she explained the product that they needed pictures of. The product was hair conditioner. And, as and how Mrs. Jones explained the product, the message, the target audience, and the kind of advertising photography they needed from me, it dawned upon me that probably the model is right there in this cafeteria. Yes. You guessed it. This girl with the book was somehow perfect for the shoot. So, I gathered all my courage and asked Mrs. Jones if she knew this young lady. When she raised her eyebrows, which I presume in surprise, I told her that she seemed to be perfect as the model.

Mrs. Jones smirked and after a little prodding from my end, the kind hearted lady announced that she represents the client side for the same product that we were discussing about. Hence, she saved me the embarrassment that I was inviting with all my heart.
